FP1: Second Frameset Overwrites Existing FramesetLast reviewed: March 17, 1998Article ID: Q170976 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft FrontPage, when you attempt to create a new frameset after having created a frameset earlier but which you did not save, the new frameset assumes the name of the frameset you created earlier.
CAUSEThis problem occurs because the first frameset was not saved before you attempted to save the second frameset. A frameset page is not named until it is saved to the hard disk.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, save the first frameset component before you attempt to create additional frameset components by clicking Save All on the File menu.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft FrontPage 97 for Windows with Bonus Pack.
MORE INFORMATIONFrontPage 97 reserves page names for framesets based on the Uniform Resource Locator (URL). FrontPage 97 will ask if you want to overwrite an existing yet unsaved frameset.
