The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft FrontPage for the Power Macintosh, version 1.0
SYMPTOMS
When you start FrontPage Editor or FrontPage Explorer, you receive the
following message:
Could not make connection to the FrontPage Editor (or FrontPage
Explorer). Please try to start the FrontPage Editor (or FrontPage
Explorer) from the Finder.
The command could not be completed, because there is not enough memory
available. Closing windows or quitting application programs can make
more memory available.
WORKAROUND
If you receive this error message, follow these steps:
- Check Virtual Memory on the computer. Note that Ram Doubler 1.5 or
higher can be used as a Virtual Memory substitute.
- Verify that all required components are available. To use Microsoft
FrontPage 1.0, you need the following components:
- A Power PC-based Macintosh computer running at 100 MHz or higher.
- Apple Macintosh System Software, version 7.5.3 or higher.
- 16 Megabytes (MB) of RAM if virtual memory is turned on.
Microsoft recommends you have at least 24 MB of RAM.
- 30 MB of available hard disk space.
- Verify that all required FrontPage Extensions and Preferences files
exist. You should have the following files installed on your computer:
