FP98: Printing Page with Form on It Causes GPF in DIBENG.DLL

SYMPTOMS

When you try to print your page with a form on it in the FrontPage Editor, you may receive the following error message:

   Fpeditor: An error has occurred in your program. To keep working anyway,
   Click Ignore and save your work in a new file. To quit this program,
   Click close. You will lose information you entered since your last save.

When you click Close, you receive the following error message:

   This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
   If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

If you click Details, you see the following message:

   FPEDITOR caused a general protection fault in module DIBENG.DLL

CAUSE

This error occurs if you are using version 2.40 of the Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet 5si printer driver for Windows 95.

RESOLUTION

Upgrade to version 2.50 of the Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet 5si printer driver. You can downloaded this printer driver from Hewlett-Packard's World Wide Web site:

   http://hpcc923.external.hp.com/cpso-support/laserjet/

After you connect to this site, select "LaserJet 5si" in the list of printers, click "Software," and then click Go.

Click the "Windows 95 Printing Software Now Includes Standalone Drivers" link to go to the Lj146en.exe.html page.
