FP98: "Specified Location Cannot Be Found" Using Import Wizard

SYMPTOMS

When you import a Web from the Internet by using the Import Web Wizard, you may receive the following error message:

   Specified location cannot be found.

CAUSE

If Microsoft Internet Explorer is not installed, the Import Web Wizard disregards proxy settings in the FrontPage Explorer. The Import Web Wizard uses the Wininet.dll file and the Internet Control Panel. Internet Explorer controls this function.

RESOLUTION

Install Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and configure the proxy settings as required by your Network Administrator.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
