file server, rather than on a Web server.
Creating a Disk-based Root Web
- In FrontPage Explorer, point to New on the File menu, and click
FrontPage Web.
- In Section 1 ("Choose the kind of FrontPage web to create"), click
One-Page Web.
- In Section 2 ("Choose a title for your FrontPage web"), click Change.
- In the "Please specify a location for the new FrontPage web" box, type:
<x>:\myweb
Where <x> is the drive letter of the hard disk drive where you want
to place the new web.
- Click OK in the Change Location dialog box.
- Click OK again in the New FrontPage dialog box.
NOTE: If the folder <x>:\myweb does not exist, click Yes when prompted with
the following message:
The folder <x>:\myweb does not exist.
Do you want to create it?
Creating a Disk-Based Subweb
In order to create a disk-based subweb in FrontPage Explorer, first create
the folder for the root web. To do this, first see the "Creating a Disk-
based Root Web" section of this article before proceeding.
- In FrontPage Explorer, point to New on the File menu, and click
FrontPage Web.
- In Section 1 ("Choose the kind of FrontPage web to create"), click
One-Page Web.
- In Section 2 ("Choose a title for your FrontPage web"), click Change.
- In the "Please specify a location for the new FrontPage web" box, type:
<x>:\myweb\subweb
Where <x> is the drive letter of the hard disk drive where you want
to place the new web.
- Click OK in the Change Location dialog box.
- Click OK again in the New FrontPage dialog box.
