This article describes how to insert a PowerPoint Presentation into your
Web page using Microsoft FrontPage.
MORE INFORMATION
Before you can use all the features described in this article, you must
have the following programs installed:
- One of the following versions of Microsoft FrontPage:
- Microsoft FrontPage 98
-or-
- Microsoft FrontPage 97
- Microsoft PowerPoint 97
Use one of the following methods to insert a PowerPoint Animation into your
Web page, depending on your version of FrontPage.
Method for FrontPage 98
To insert a PowerPoint Animation (.ppz) file into your Web page, follow
these steps:
- Save your PowerPoint Presentation as a PowerPoint Animation file. To
do so, follow these steps:.
a. Open your PowerPoint Presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint.
b. On the File menu, click Save As HTML.
c. Click Next three times.
d. Click the PowerPoint animation button, and click Next.
e. Click Next six times.
f. In the Folder field, type "C:\My Documents" (without the
quotation marks), and then click Finish.
NOTE: The PowerPoint Animation will be saved with the file name
pres0.ppz in a folder with the same name as the PowerPoint animation
you have open.
- Import the PowerPoint Animation into your FrontPage Web. To do so,
follow these steps:
a. Open your Web in FrontPage Explorer.
b. On the File menu, click Import.
c. Click Add File.
d. Select the pres0.ppz file you created in step 1 and click Open.
NOTE: The default location is C:\My Documents
e. Click OK
- Open your Web page in FrontPage Editor.
- On the Insert menu, point to Advanced, and then click ActiveX
Control.
- In the Pick A Control list, click Microsoft PowerPoint Animation.
- Set the Width to 320 and the Height to 240.
- Click the Browse button.
- Click prez0.ppz and click OK, and OK again.
- Click Save on the File menu.
Method for FrontPage 97
To insert a PowerPoint Animation (.ppz) file into your Web page, follow
these steps:
- Save your PowerPoint Presentation as a PowerPoint Animation file.
a. Open your PowerPoint Presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint.
b. On the File menu, click Save As HTML.
c. Click Next three times.
d. Click the PowerPoint animation button, and then click Next.
e. Click Next six times.
f. In the Folder field, type "C:\My Documents" (without the
quotation marks), and then click Finish.
NOTE: The PowerPoint Animation will be saved with the file name
pres0.ppz in a folder with the same name as the PowerPoint animation
you have open.
- Import the PowerPoint Animation into your FrontPage Web. To do so,
follow these steps:
a. Open your Web in FrontPage Explorer.
b. On the File menu, click Import.
c. Click Add File.
d. Select the pres0.ppz file you created in step 1 and click Open.
NOTE: The default location is C:\My Documents
e. Click OK
- Open your Web page in FrontPage Editor.
- On the Insert menu, point to Other Component, and then click
PowerPoint Animation.
- Click the Browse button, click prez0.ppz, and then click OK.
- Click the ActiveX Control button, and then click OK.
- On the File menu, click Save.
NOTE: The first time you browse to your page that contains the PowerPoint
animation, you may be prompted by the browser to download and install the
Microsoft PowerPoint animation ActiveX control.
