How to Change the H/PC Device Name

SUMMARY

The device name of your Handheld PC (H/PC) is the name for your H/PC that is displayed during an infrared connection to another H/PC. This article describes how to change the device name of your H/PC.

To change the device name of your H/PC, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Start button, tap Settings, and then double-tap Communications.

  2. On the Device Name tab, type the new device name for your H/PC in the Device Name box.

    NOTE: The new device name should contain no spaces and should be no more than 15 characters in length.

  3. Tap OK.
