Double-Clicking Shortcut in H/PC Explorer Causes Error Message

SYMPTOMS

If you create a shortcut on your Handheld PC (H/PC) to Control Panel or the Recycle Bin and then double-click the shortcut in H/PC Explorer on your desktop computer, you receive one of the following error messages:

  • The item '{00314FE-0000-0000-C0000-000000000046}' that the shortcut refers to has been changed or moved. The item cannot be opened.
  • The item '{000214A1-0000-0000-C0000-000000000046}' that the shortcut refers to has been changed or moved. The item cannot be opened.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
