Installing International Extensions for Internet Explorer 2.0To successfully install International Extensions for Internet Explorer 2.0, you must install it over the released version of Internet Explorer 2.0. International Extensions for Internet Explorer 2.0 can be installed in any language version of Windows 95 or any language version of Internet Explorer 2.0. If you attempt to install International Extensions for Internet Explorer 2.0 over Internet Explorer 1.0 or a beta version of Internet Explorer 2.0, you receive the following error message:

If the version reported is 2.0 (4.40.607), you are using International Extensions for Internet Explorer 2.0 (Internet Explorer 2.0i). You can also determine the version of Internet Explorer by confirming the presence of the following files. International Extensions for Internet Explorer 2.0 replaces the following files.

This may cause a performance degradation for content in non-native character sets. For example, displaying Japanese content in English Windows 95 is slower than displaying English content in English Windows 95 or displaying Japanese content in Japanese Windows 95. Note that there is no performance degradation when you view English content in English Windows 95 after installing International Extensions for Internet Explorer 2.0.
English Language User Interface for Internet Explorer Is InstalledBy installing International Extensions for Internet Explorer 2.0, you install an English language user interface for Internet Explorer. If this is unacceptable to you, you can reinstall your localized version of Internet Explorer 2.0. However, International Extensions for Internet Explorer 2.0 no longer work if you do so.
Microsoft Office User Interface May Appear with Japanese CharactersIf you use Korean Windows 95 and you add Japanese support to International Extensions for Internet Explorer 2.0, parts of the Microsoft Office for Windows 95 user interface may appear with Japanese characters. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Office for Windows 95. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
Character Set Box Does Not Contain European LanguagesIt is not necessary to select the following European languages in the character set box:
