The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 2.01, 3.0, 3.01, 3.02a for Windows 3.1

SYMPTOMS

After you enable the Dial On Demand feature of an Internet connection, you may be unable to modify the connection settings.

CAUSE

The Dial On Demand feature begins dialing automatically when the connection is double-clicked. When the Dial On Demand feature is disabled, a Connect To screen allows you to dial the connection or modify its properties.

RESOLUTION

Double-click the connection icon, and then click Cancel when the modem begins to dial. This opens the Connect To window. Click Properties to modify the connection properties.
