Reopening a .ppt File Opens the Safe Open Dialog Box

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation (.ppt) file in Internet Explorer, a virus warning is displayed with the Safe Open dialog box. If you open the file, modify it, close it without saving the changes, and then open the file again, you receive the Safe Open dialog box again.

RESOLUTION

If you do not want to receive the Safe Open dialog box when you reopen the file, turn off the Safe Open function by clicking the "Always ask before opening this type of file" check box to clear it, or save the file after you open it.
