The information in this article applies to:
SUMMARYInternet Explorer version 3.0 for Macintosh includes native support for ActiveX. To access ActiveX content using Internet Explorer 3.0, you do not need to use the ActiveX plug-in that is included with Internet Explorer.
MORE INFORMATIONWhen you install Internet Explorer 3.0, an ActiveX plug-in is copied to the "Microsoft Internet Applications:Internet Explorer 3.0 Folder:ActiveX Plugin" folder. This ActiveX plug-in is not required to access ActiveX content using Internet Explorer 3.0. It should only be used if you are using a previous version of Internet Explorer for Macintosh, or if you are using a third-party Internet browser that supports plug-ins, but does not include native support for ActiveX. NOTE: Unlike Java programs, the integrity of ActiveX content is not verified in Internet Explorer 3.0. Therefore, you should only access ActiveX content that you are sure is not harmful.
