SYMPTOMSYou may receive the following error message when you install the Internet Explorer 3.0b/3.01b Security Update on a computer running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0:
Rename Error An error occurred renaming a file: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." (error #32). Current File Name: [MSHTML.DLL] Retry, Skip File, Abort? CAUSEThis error occurs if Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 1 or earlier is installed, and Internet Explorer is running when you try to install the Security Update.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, quit Internet Explorer by clicking Quit on the File menu, and then click Retry in the dialog box to install the Security Update. If you have already chosen to abort the installation, follow these steps:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Internet Explorer 3.0b/3.01b Security Update. If you are running Windows NT Service Pack 2 or later, you are not affected by this problem.
