Last reviewed: October 17, 1997
Article ID: Q169435
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (Programming), version 4.0

SYMPTOMS

With the introduction of site subscriptions in Internet Explorer (IE) 4.0, users can now have the information they choose automatically updated at specified intervals, or even stored offline for later viewing. However, when the specified time comes for subscribed content to get updated and the user is not logged into their account, Internet Explorer does not automatically retrieve the information.

CAUSE

Subscriptions in IE 4.0 are defined per user and are designed to update content only when the user is logged in.

RESOLUTION

The user must remain logged in for their subscriptions to be fulfilled.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
