Customized Graphics Allow Invalid or Non-Bitmap (.bmp) Paths

SYMPTOMS

The IEAK wizard allows you to type invalid paths or paths to non-Bitmap (.bmp) files when you specify the following customizable graphics:

  • Active Setup Bitmap
  • Internet Connection Manager Bitmap
  • IE Toolbar Background Bitmap
  • Small (26 x 26) Static IE Logo

WORKAROUND

To verify that a path has been typed correctly, click the Browse button after you type the path. If the path is correct, the Open dialog will list the file in the file list below the path.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in IEAK version 4.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
