SYMPTOMSWhen you try to connect to a File Transfer Protocol Web site using Internet Explorer, you may receive the following error message:
Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site: ftp://ftp.site.com/. The site was not found. Make sure the address is correct, and try again. CAUSEThis error can occur if the File Transport Protocol proxy server setting is configured incorrectly in Internet Explorer.
RESOLUTIONMake sure the proxy server settings are correct for the File Transfer Protocol. To do so, follow these steps:
If the same proxy server is used for both FTP and HTTP Web sites, click the "Use the same proxy server for all protocols" check box to select it. This enters the same proxy server settings in all the protocol boxes.
