SYMPTOMS

When you start Internet Explorer after you install the Pipeline USA sample browser program, its Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) stack, and its dialer program, you may receive the following error message:

Unable to access the network. Please check your tcp/ip settings in the
   Control Panel.

CAUSE

This error message occurs because the Pipeline USA browser replaces the Windows 95 Wsock32.dll file with its own version of the Wsock32.dll file.

For information about how to rename a file, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type "renaming" (without quotation marks), and then double-click the "Renaming files" topic.

  2. Extract a new copy of the Wsock32.dll file from your original Windows 95 CD-ROM or floppy disks into the Windows\System folder. To do this, use the method appropriate for the media on which you have Windows 95.

the Windows 95 screen if it appears.

             extract /a <drive>:\win95\win95_11.cab wsock32.dll /l

where <windows> is the name of the folder in which Windows is
          installed.
