The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you try to install additional components from the Internet Explorer 4.0 Components Download page, an invalid page fault may occur in Kernel32.dll. After the error message is displayed, your computer may not restart properly or at all.
CAUSEThis problem can occur if you do not have enough free hard disk space to install the selected components.
RESOLUTIONIncrease the amount of free space on your hard disk by using one or more of the following methods:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 for Windows 95. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONThe Components Download page does not state the amount of hard disk space needed to install the selected components. Instead, the Web page states the total size of the components.
