Cannot Find Files on a CD-ROM Using a Text String Search

SYMPTOMS

When you try to search for files on a CD-ROM by searching for a specific text string, you may not find any files.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you are using the Windows Desktop Update component of Internet Explorer 4.0.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, you must uninstall the Windows Desktop Update component of Internet Explorer 4.0. For information about uninstalling the Windows Desktop Update component, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS
