SYMPTOMSAfter you install the Task Scheduler component, scheduled tasks may appear in the Scheduled Tasks folder.
CAUSEWhen you install the Task Scheduler component, tasks that you previously scheduled using the AT command are copied to the Scheduled Tasks folder, even if the Schedule service is disabled.
RESOLUTIONIf the Scheduled Tasks folder contains tasks that you do not want to run on a regular basis, disable or remove the tasks, or disable Task Scheduler. To disable a task in the Scheduled Tasks folder, follow these steps:
MORE INFORMATIONThe Task Scheduler component replaces the Schedule service with the Task Scheduler service. Uninstalling the Task Scheduler component does not restore the Schedule service. For information about the Schedule service in Windows NT, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type "schedule" (without quotation marks), and then click Display. Task Scheduler is an Internet Explorer component that you can install after Internet Explorer is installed by using the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel.
