The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf a Windows sound (.wav) file is being played when you press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Close Program dialog box, a short part of the sound file may be played continuously.
RESOLUTIONTo stop the sound file from being played continuously, click Cancel in the Close Program dialog box, or click the sound file that is being played and then click End Task. To prevent the problem from occurring, do not press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Close Program dialog box while a .wav file is being played.
STATUSMicrosoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
