The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSThis problem occurs when two or more clients simultaneously access the same Web server that is using the Microsoft FrontPage extensions shipped with Windows NT Service Pack 3. Internet Information Server (IIS) stops and the client computers may become unresponsive. Once this condition has occurred, the computer running IIS needs to be shut down and restarted. This problem only applies to multiprocessor systems running the Japanese version of Windows NT 4.0, IIS 3.0, and FrontPage extensions.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the following fix or wait for the next IIS service pack. The fix contains updated versions of Msvcrt.dll and Msvcrt40.dll.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Internet Information Server 3.0. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
