FIX: Printing Fails with java.lang.NullPointerException

SYMPTOMS

Printing from your Java applet or application will fail with the Java Virtual Machine from Internet Explorer 4.0 when using certain printer drivers.

If you enable Java logging in Internet Explorer and look in the Javalog.txt file, you will see a java.lang.NullPointerException when trying to print.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. The problem has been fixed in the Microsoft Virtual Machine for Java build 2334 or higher. Download the Virtual Machine for Java from http://www.microsoft.com/java/.
