The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you download the Microsoft Virtual Machine for Java build 2252 that comes with Internet Explorer 4.0 and also the Microsoft SDK 2.0 for Java, the version number of the Virtual Machine build in the registry is listed as 4.79.2252 instead of 4,79,2252,0.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem has been fixed in Virtual Machine build 2339 that ships with Internet Explorer 4.01 and the SDK 2.01 for Java. This issue has no known impact on either the running or upgrading of the Virtual Machine.
