SUMMARYThe Active Messaging Libraries are used to implement Messaging functionality into a custom application. This article contains information on where these libraries can be found.
MORE INFORMATIONThe dynamic-link libraries (DLLs) for Active Messaging (Olemsg[32].dll) and Active Messaging Rendering (Amhtml.dll) are MAPI client object libraries. As such, they require MAPI and service providers (for example, the same service providers as with Microsoft Exchange Server). Amhtml.dll and Olemsg[32].dll are included with Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.0 and are installed on the server when the installation option Active Server Components is selected. Active Messaging (OLEMSG[32].DLL only, not AMHTML.DLL) is also installed by installing the Windows Messaging Exchange 5 client. Although Active Messaging works with Microsoft Outlook 97, Olemsg[32].dll is not installed with the Outlook setup program. You can set up Active Messaging after setting up Microsoft Outlook by installing the library on its own, or by installing the Microsoft Exchange Server 5.0 client. Alternately, the Active Messaging libraries can be installed independently by copying them from the installation CD-ROM to your computer's system directory. The files are available from the Microsoft Web site at the following address:
