IntelliPoint/IntelliType Features Disabled Exiting Windows

SYMPTOMS

After you choose OK in the Exit Windows dialog box to quit Windows, the IntelliPoint and IntelliType features do not function if you choose Cancel in any successive dialog box.

CAUSE

When the Exit Windows dialog box appears, the IntelliPoint and IntelliType features are disabled. If you choose Cancel, the features are restored. If you choose OK, the features remain disabled.

RESOLUTION

To re-enable the IntelliPoint and IntelliType features, restart Windows.

MORE INFORMATION

The following are examples of when quitting Windows could be canceled after you choose OK in the Exit Windows dialog box:

  • An application has an unsaved document and you are prompted to save, exit, or cancel.
  • An MS-DOS prompt session is open, forcing a cancel.
  • A user is connected to your computer and you choose to cancel when you are prompted.
