The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft PS/2 Serial Mouse, version 1.x
  • Microsoft Mouse Driver for MS-DOS, versions 6.x, 7.x, and 8.x

SUMMARY

Microsoft PS/2 serial mice are not guaranteed to work correctly with laptops due to the low power specification on serial ports found on some laptops.

MORE INFORMATION

PS/2 serial mice with SSMA adapters (cigarette box shaped adapters) may not work properly with the Zenith laptop models 181 and 183.

Mice with UMA adapters (cigar-shaped adapters) with the version 6.14 or later mouse driver have been tested informally and seem to work properly with the Zenith laptops.

The Zenith product included here is manufactured by a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability.
