OFFICE: Word ClipArt File Icons Are Blank

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft Office, some of the clipart may be displayed with blank icons instead of specific picture icons as expected.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design of Microsoft Office. The Microsoft Word clipart files are formatted as type PICT and creator TTXT. If you do not have an program on your computer that can read this file type, for example SimpleText, then the clipart file icons will be blank. Note that these files are not ClipArt Gallery items.
