The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen a Microsoft Excel 7.0 object is inserted from a file, the result may be a single cell, regardless of the used area of the workbook.
CAUSEThis behavior occurs if the source file is currently open in Microsoft Excel.
WORKAROUNDTo avoid this problem, close the source document in Microsoft Excel before you insert an object from that file.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONWhen a saved workbook is open in Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0, and an object based on the file is inserted in an OLE compliant application, only a single cell is inserted. This object can then be scaled and sized to view a greater area of the Microsoft Excel worksheet.
