The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Office for Windows 95, version 7.0

SYMPTOMS

When you start the Office Shortcut Bar for the first time, the only toolbar that is visible is the Office Toolbar. However the toolbar may not have all of the default buttons shown, and some items may also be missing from the Buttons tab in the Customize dialog box.

CAUSE

If you perform a Custom installation of Microsoft Office version 7.0 and you choose not to install the Office Shortcut Bar, this problem may occur if, later, you choose to re-install the Office Shortcut Bar.

RESOLUTION

To restore the Office Toolbar on the OSB to its full default settings, do the following:

  1. Use the right mouse button to click the Office Toolbar. Click Customize on the shortcut menu.

  2. Click the Buttons tab in the Customize dialog box.

  3. For each item that is missing from the Office Toolbar (see the Table below), click the Add File button and locate that item on your computer.

  4. Once you have selected the item, click Add.

  5. When all of the items that should be in the Office Toolbar have been added back in, click OK.

The following table lists each default button on the Office Toolbar and whether or not it is enabled by default (selected in the buttons tab of the customize dialog box).
