The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Office for Windows 95, version 7.0

IMPORTANT: This article contains information about editing the registry. Before you edit the registry, you should first make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat). Both are hidden files in the Windows folder.

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Office Binder Client Billing template, the settings you enter into the wizard are retained. The next time you use the template, these entries are present.

CAUSE

The Office Binder Client Billing template stores the wizard entries in the Windows 95 registry. Removing the templates using the Office Setup program does not remove the Client Billing template settings.

RESOLUTION

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows 95. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

For information about how to edit the registry, view the Changing Keys And Values online Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe). Note that you should make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat) before you edit the registry.

To remove the Client Billing template, use the following steps:

  1. Run the Registry Editor (Click Run on the Start menu and type regedit).

  2. Open the following key:

          HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Binder

  3. Delete the Template subfolder under the Binder folder.

Deleting the Template folder removes the current settings for the Client Billing template.

STATUS

This behavior of is by design of Binder. This design retains all of the user information. The client information must be overwritten when you set up a new client.
