  • Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0

SYMPTOMS

When you install any of the products listed above, the installation files may be installed to a folder (directory) other than the MSOffice folder. (Note that the Setup dialog box indicates that the files will be installed to the default MSOffice folder.)

This problem may occur if a folder called MSOffice previously existed on the hard disk drive and was renamed to a name that starts with "MSOffice." For example, if the original MSOffice folder is renamed "Msofficeold," the products listed above will be installed to the Msofficeold folder.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, move any files or templates that you would like to save to another folder and delete the renamed Msoffice folder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
