OFF95: Shortcuts That You Drag and Drop to OSB Do Not Start

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you click a button on the Office Shortcut Bar, you do not receive the expected results.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you drag an item from Control Panel to the desktop to create a shortcut, and you then drag the shortcut from the desktop to the Office Shortcut Bar. Later, if you click the button on the Office Shortcut Bar, it appears that nothing happens.

This problem may also occur if you drag a printer driver shortcut from the desktop to the Office Shortcut Bar.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the right mouse button to click the desired button on the Office Shortcut Bar, and then click Open.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Office for Windows 95. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
