Last reviewed: November 17, 1997
Article ID: Q146012
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Office for the Macintosh, versions 4.2, 4.2.1, 4.2.1a

SYMPTOMS

When you run the patch for the Microsoft Office Manager (MOM), you may receive an error message stating that the version that you are attempting to patch is not the correct version.

CAUSE

This error occurs for one of the following reasons:

  • The version of MOM that you attempted to patch is the current version and does not need to be patched. To use this patch, you must have Microsoft Office version 4.2.1 or 4.2.1a installed on your computer.
  • The version of MOM is earlier than the one included with Microsoft Office 4.2.1 or 4.2.1a. The patch is specifically designed to look for and update the Microsoft Office Manager supplied with these two versions of Microsoft Office only.

MORE INFORMATION

The patch was released by Microsoft to correct an incompatibility with changes made by Apple Computer in System Software version 7.5.2.
