MORE INFORMATIONThe online documentation that ships with Microsoft Office for the Macintosh version 4.2.1a and 4.2.1b on CD contains the same manuals that ship with these versions of Office on floppy disk. In the Microsoft Word User's Guide, Appendix A (Character Sets), there are tables that contain the 255 character set for the Times New Roman and Symbol fonts for Microsoft Windows and the Times, Symbol, and Chicago font for the Macintosh. This is the character set on which the jump in the online documentation is unsuccessful.
