The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you insert a graphic file in Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word, the graphic file may appear with a folder icon to the left of the file name in the Picture dialog box. In addition, when you insert an object in either Microsoft Excel or Word, or when you insert a database or file in Word, if you view the file in a dialog box, the file may appear with a folder icon to the left of the file name.
CAUSEThis problem occurs when you use Microsoft Excel or Word on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows NT 3.51. This problem does not occur when you use Microsoft Excel or Word on a computer running Microsoft Windows 95.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
