SYMPTOMSWhen you use the Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar, you may receive the following error when the Office Shortcut Bar is started:
MSOffice.exe - Drive not ready The drive is not ready for use; the door may be open. Please check drive <X> and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the drive door is closed.where <X> is the CD-ROM drive on the computer.
CAUSEThis problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
MORE INFORMATIONWhen the Office Shortcut Bar is started, it makes a call to the Windows registry to get feedback from the Windows NT CD-ROM driver. Under Microsoft Windows NT 3.51, this call produces an error when the Matsushita LF-#1094c PD CD-ROM drive is installed and the drive is empty or contains a read-only compact disc. NOTE: The error does not appear if the drive contains a writable cartridge. If the Matsushita PD LF-#1094C CD-ROM drive is installed and the drive does not contain a writable cartridge, this problem occurs in any program that makes a call for feedback from the Windows NT CD-ROM driver.
