OFF97: Photo Editor Is Not Installed by the ValuPack

SUMMARY

The Microsoft Photo Editor is installed only with Microsoft Office 97 and the stand-alone versions of Microsoft Word 97 or Microsoft PowerPoint 97. The Microsoft Photo Editor is not available in the stand-alone versions of Microsoft Excel 97, Microsoft Access 97, or as part of the Microsoft Office 97 ValuPack.

This behavior differs from early marketing advertisements that indicate that the Microsoft Photo Editor is available as part of the Microsoft Office ValuPack. The Microsoft Photo Editor is not part of the ValuPack.

The Microsoft Photo Editor allows you to customize graphic images you create, scan, or open. To install the Microsoft Photo Editor, use the following steps:

1. Run Setup and click Custom.

2. In the list of components, click Office Tools. Click Change Option.

3. Click to select the check box next to Microsoft Photo Editor.

4. Click OK and continue running the Setup program.
