STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONBy matching ANY search criteria fields, you create an OR condition. For example, if your search page uses search fields for Title And Phrases, and you enter the word "urgent" (without the quotation marks) in both fields, you create a OR condition. Web Find Fast finds a document title that contains the word "urgent" or a phrase that contains the word "urgent" in the body of a document. When this condition occurs, Microsoft Web Find Fast fails to return the correct number of hit results. The Microsoft Office Web Find Fast indexer is available on the Microsoft Office compact disc in the Srvpack folder. This utility allows you to index multiple document locations on your Web server. You can combine all of these locations into one index, which makes searching for any file on your Web server as easy as clicking your browser. These results are then returned to the Web page that is generated by Microsoft Office Web Find Fast. The links that are returned function as either Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) or universal naming convention (UNC) file references. You can customize all HTML pages to use the features of Microsoft Office Web Find Fast, including sorting by relevance, file name, save date, and size.
