SUMMARYA utility that helps you completely remove Microsoft Office 97 is available. The Office 97 File and Registry Eraser Utility removes most of the files and Windows registry settings that remain on the computer after you remove Microsoft Office 97. This utility is designed to be run after you run the Setup program for Office 97 and click Remove All to remove Office. If you cannot run the Setup program to click Remove All, delete the Microsoft Office folder before you run the Office 97 File and Registry Eraser Utility.

Because a shared file may be used by another program, other programs may not run correctly if a necessary shared file has been removed. If this problem occurs, reinstall the program to replace the required shared file. Messages Appear Under Windows NT 4.0: If your operating system is Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, when you run this utility and run Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, the following error message may appear:
