SYMPTOMSWhen you start one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot start the Office Assistant because QuickTime is not installed or is not currently enabled. Please install or enable QuickTime and then restart your Macintosh if you want to use the Office Assistant.When you click the Office Assistant button on the toolbar, the Help window is opened rather than the Office Assistant. NOTE: You may receive this error message when you click the Office Assistant button on the toolbar.
CAUSEThis problem may occur if the either of the following extensions have been disabled or are not installed on your computer:
QuickTime QuickTime PowerPlug STATUSThis is by design of Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition.
MORE INFORMATIONOnce you receive this error message, it will not be repeated in the other Office programs. For example, if you receive this error message while starting Microsoft Word, you will not receive this error message the next time that you start Microsoft Excel.
