SYMPTOMSIf you edit a WordArt 2.0 object that is formatted for a TrueType font that is no longer available on your system, WordArt maps the text to a different font. WordArt does not generate a message letting you know that it is doing so. It selects the first font in the list (usually either Arial or Algerian, since the font list is organized alphabetically). WordArt should generate a message letting you know that if you edit the object you will lose its original font formatting and giving you the option to cancel.
RESOLUTIONThe only way to regain the font formatting originally used in the TrueType object is to do one of the following:
