CG: Pictures Appear as Icons in ClipArt Gallery

Last reviewed: February 27, 1998
Article ID: Q115345
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft ClipArt Gallery version 1.1

SYMPTOMS

When you register pictures in the ClipArt Gallery, some pictures display as an icon and not as a representation of the graphic.

CAUSE

This is caused by ClipArt Gallery's inability to scale large complex pictures to tiny bitmapped thumbnails.

MORE INFORMATION

Although the picture cannot be displayed in the Microsoft ClipArt Gallery, it is viewable in Microsoft Publisher and can still be used in a publication. Due to a limitation in the scaling and remapping abilities of the ClipArt Gallery, there is no way to correct this without reducing either the picture's dimension size, color depth, or dots per inch (dpi).
