Article ID: Q153830
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Graph for the Macintosh, version 5.0
  • Microsoft Office for the Macintosh, versions 4.2, 4.2.1
  • Microsoft PowerPoint for the Macintosh, version 4.0
  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, version 6.0
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, version 5.0

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Graph 5.0 Help from Microsoft Office, you may notice the following behavior:

  • You are unable to create bookmarks.
  • You are unable to select menu commands (File, Edit and Bookmark are visible).
  • You are unable to print a Graph 5.0 Help topic.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the following steps to run Help from outside of the Office program:

  1. Open the Microsoft folder.

The Microsoft folder is normally at the same location as the Microsoft Office folder.

  2. Start Microsoft Graph Help by double-clicking the icon for the file.

You now will be able to print and use bookmarks.

NOTE: If you switch to another program when you are editing a graph, the Graph object may become inactive. To re-activate the Graph object, double- click its image in your document.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Graph listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
