Graph97: Invalid Page Fault when Changing Font Properties

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Graph, when selecting the text to a Chart Title or Axis Title, clicking the Format menu, and then clicking Font, you will receive the following error:

   This program has performed an illegal operation and will be
   shut down.  If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

When you click Details:

   Graph8 caused an invalid page fault in module GRAPH8.EXE at 0137:3011bc5

You may have to re-start your computer.

WORKAROUND

To change the font attributes of your graph title, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

  1. Click to select the Graph Title.

  2. Right-click the Title, and click Format Chart Title on the shortcut menu.

  3. Click the Font Tab, make your changes and click OK.

Method 2

  1. click to select the Graph Title.

  2. Right-click the Title, and click Format Axis Title on the shortcut menu.

  3. Make your changes, and click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Graph 97. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
