SUMMARY

When printing text that was created in the WordArt application supplied with Microsoft Publisher for Windows 1.0, some of the characters comprising the text may print unfilled. This behavior most notably occurs on the characters "B", "e", "o", "i", and "y", although depending on the size and font used, it may happen to other characters as well.

This happens because WordArt text is composed of metafiles, or graphics, and if the complexity of the image is too much for the PaintJet driver to handle, the fills will drop out. A newer Hewlett-Packard PaintJet driver, version 1.01, appears to correct the problem. Note that this driver has not been officially tested by Microsoft and is currently available only through Hewlett-Packard (HP).
