SUMMARYYou can convert equations originally created in Microsoft Word for Windows version 1.0, 1.1, or 1.1a to Word for Windows version 2.0; however, the Equation Editor may not start up when you double-click the equation.
MORE INFORMATIONIf you embed an equation in a Word for Windows version 2.0 document, double-clicking the equation should open the Equation Editor. This does not always occur if the equation was converted as part of a Word for Windows 1.x file. Sometimes after you double-click the equation, the Equation Editor opens with a blank window, indicating that no equation exists in that particular location.If this problem occurs, the equation is also deleted from the text of the document. To correct this problem, use the following steps:
