  • Microsoft Graph for Windows version 3.0

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Graph, an OLE server application that ships with Microsoft Word for Windows version 2.0, you cannot sort data from within the Microsoft Graph datasheet. You must copy the information to another application to perform the sort, and then copy it back to the Microsoft Graph datasheet.

MORE INFORMATION

The following steps describe how to sort Microsoft Graph data in Word for Windows:

  1. Select the data in the Microsoft Graph datasheet.

  2. From the Edit menu, choose Copy.

  3. Press CTRL+ESC, and return to Word for Windows. Create a new document. From the Edit menu, choose Paste.

  4. From the Tools menu, choose Sorting.

  5. Ensure that the following options are set, choose the OK button:

          a. Key Type matches data type.

          b. The Separator option is set to Tab.

          c. Field Number is set to the correct column.

  6. From the Edit menu, choose Copy.

  7. Press CTRL+ESC, and return to the Microsoft Graph datasheet.

  8. Select the upper-left corner cell of the Microsoft Graph datasheet.

  9. From the Edit menu, choose Paste.

Your data is now sorted in the Microsoft Graph datasheet. These changes are automatically reflected in the corresponding Microsoft Graph chart.

For more information on sorting a list, search for "sorting" and "sorting a list (alphabetical or numeric)" using the Help menu.
