SUMMARYAn unrecoverable application error (UAE) occurs if you attempt to activate the Microsoft Word for Windows version 2.0 Equation Editor by double-clicking an equation that is located in the header or footer of a converted Word for Windows version 1.x document.
MORE INFORMATIONYou can use the Word for Windows version 2.0 Equation Editor to edit equations created with the EQ field in Word for Windows version 1.x documents; however, if the equation is located in the header or footer of a version 1.x document, a UAE occurs in Word for Windows 2.0 if you double-click the equation to activate Equation Editor. To edit a converted version 1.x equation that is located in a header or footer, use the following steps:
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows version 2.0. This problem was corrected in version 2.0a of word for Windows.
