SUMMARY

You can send a mail message to another Outlook 97 user that contains a shortcut to a public folder. This is useful for quickly moving through multiple levels of folders.

MORE INFORMATION

To insert a shortcut to a public folder into an e-mail message, follow these steps:

  1. In Outlook, display the Folder List by clicking the Folder List icon on the Standard toolbar.

  2. Move through the Folder List to locate a public folder.

  3. Create a new mail message and minimize it.

  4. Select either the public folder name or the icon from the right end of the Folder Banner, drag, and hold it over the minimized mail item on the Windows taskbar until the message opens.

  5. Drop the folder onto the mail message.

This creates a shortcut to the folder in the message. The recipient must be using Outlook to use the shortcut.
